June 6 is a special day for my Vacation Races adventures. It was the day of my first VR races and it was a last minute trip to Utah to do the first Zion at Night. I ran on Saturday at 7:00 and from then I was hooked!
Sunday was also the day that Dave arrived and we began our anniversary and birthday celebrations! His flight arrived at 10:15, so I was able to go to breakfast at Nora's Fish Creek Inn for a yummy breakfast. I also was able to hit the grocery store in order to stock up on supplies for hiking lunches.
The airport also had an antler arch
Dave flew into Jackson Hole Airport and wow what a cool airport! He landed right beside the Tetons and the airport is actually in the National Park.
But not to be deterred, we headed straight to the Grand Teton National park for hiking and a picnic lunch!
We stopped at the first hike we came to which was Taggert Lake.
After we hiked to Taggert Lake, we then hiked to Bradley Lake.
Wildflowers were in bloom this time of year in Jackson
Bradley Lake
Dave found animal rubbings on a tree...always scouting as a hunter!
It seemed as if every where we looked, we saw magnificent sights.
Oxbow Bend
Our energy level was dropping, so we decided we needed to go into Jackson for supper. We did make one pit stop at Mormon Row on the way.
