A day with Camden

Friday, July 30, 2010
Nathan leaves to go to Ridgecrest and I get to spend the rest of the day with my favorite 3 year old; and it is National Cheesecake Day. What a day!

After dropping Nathan off to go on his last adventure of the summer, Camden and I go grocery shopping. This is an adventure that I have been neglecting, especially with coupons. But we went today and saved about $70. Not too bad. So we then head downtown to the Children's Museum. (Camden had won a free ticket through the library reading program.) I thought that if we went in the afternoon we would avoid the crowds who need to get home for naps. Well, I was wrong! And there are now camps at the museum. I haven't figured that one out; do the kids stay all day at the museum? And is it more than one day? That would be dreadful. Not the I didn't enjoy spending time with Camden and seeing him enjoy the museum, but after about an hour at our museum, I am ready to go.

Didn't we just finish grocery shopping?!?

Camden picking out his favorite snack...and at Publix no less! Do you have a coupon for that?

Playing on the pirate ship.

Building a tree in the treehouse room

A water pump that really works!

Knowing that next week I get to eat at Queen Anne's Revenge!

Of course we spent more time there than that. But when I was ready to drag Camden away, it started pouring outside. More time in the treehouse for us.

But we finally got away, even in the rain. At least Camden wore his rainboots! He is always prepeared for rain.

Home was our final stop for the evening. And to celebrate national cheesecake day, Camden and I made cheesecake. My mom used to make individual cheesecakes that were awesome. I have made them a few times, but they never turn out the greatest. So Dave still brought home a cheesecake from Publix. What a yummy way to end a nice day spent with a nice boy!

Camden loves to "make"

Which one looks better??
