Smiles

I am determined to use this as a diary and a place to practice my writing skills, so here I am again!

Today is another Saturday in the life of a baseball family! Practice at 11. This time sort of stinks because it is not early enough to have the rest of the day available. By the time it is over, it is naptime and maybe I had better do something about this kitchen time and you know supper will be here before you know it! I am learning that I can't cram everything into the time of day after the kids go to bed! Esp since Nathan is getting older and wants to stay up later when it is the weekend; and he asks to play a game together! How can you send your child to be right at 8 when he wants to spend quality time with you!

And I have to brag on my boy! He was upset knowing that Karen Stamps died this week. He had only met her 2 yrs ago and for just 2 days, but he remembered her and the rest of the family. I had told Nathan to go write a card for a present since he was going to a b-day party today. He ran off to do this while muttering that he had to write 2 cards. He then came back and showed me the first. He had found some stationary in my table and had written a note to Karen's husband, Eric. It went something like this:

Dear Mr. Stamps, I am really sorry for your loss. I guess this is just a part of life. and thanks again for the duck. Love, Nathan

Fortunately his note was able to make us laugh since it has been a sombering weekend. About the duck, when we went to DC to visit them 2 yrs ago, Eric took us out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant that served duck! He still remembers that!

Watching your children grow up is an exciting thing, even if you wish they could stay 2! I am so thankful for my oldest boy with the sensitive heart. I am now getting to watch and wonder what kind of boy Camden will grow up to become! His newest thing he says that touches my heart is "my mommy". It makes me smile!

Smiling right now, Amy
