We entered the Grand Canyon National Park at the South Rim entrance. Our first stop was at Mather's Point. This was where we got our first view of the canyon. We also walked around the rim for a short distance.
While hiking down the trail we saw lots of awesome scenery! Although there was a lot of rock, it looked different from different views. The green plants were only in certain spots....and I'm sure there are scientific reasons and explanations of why things grow or don't grow in different spots...I just know there were different scenic views!
We also hiked through two tunnels. At the second tunnel we passed some Amish ladies who had hiked down in their dresses. That is impressive!!
One of the coolest things on the hike was seeing big horned sheep! At a turn in the trail, I heard some rocks moving above me. When we looked up, we saw a group of big horned sheep right above us! They started coming down toward us and even crossed the trail right in front of us! At one point I thought I needed to move out of the way as they looked like they were headed toward me.
It was nice that so many people were willing to swap cameras to take pictures for you!
Camden on the spot where we were fussed at! At least we got his picture taken!
