Eat Local

Today we ate local, the new fad!  And it was very tasty!  We divided our conquests today.  Mom, Camden and I went to the local farmers market.  We bought corn, plums, grapes, beets (not my favorite), lima beans, asparagus, olives, and the best pickles I have eaten in a long time.  We also bought shrimp that the man said were swimming in the ocean yesterday!

But the best part of our dinner was what was swimming in the waters today!  And the fact that my dad was finally able to catch a fish with Dave for the first time.  Every time Dave takes my dad fishing, they both never catch anything.  Except today.  Dave caught a flounder and a sea trout and Dad caught a red drum.  It was an inshore slam (Dave's words!).

What a fun SC certified day!

Camden's videos

Well since I posted videos of Nathan, very brief though they were, I thought I should give Camden equal time. These are from his end of the school year program. Camden is my surprise child. You never know what he will do...especially when in front of people! One time he might dance during his choir performance in front of the whole church, but the next he might just stand there and look like he doesn't know what to do. Well, this program he stood out as doing everything right! Lots of expression and saying all of the words. Of course the Sunday after this Friday performance, he did more standing than singing in his church choir performance. At least there was no dancing that night! But for the good stuff...

Back to the blog

It has been a very long time since I have blogged! I had been very busy with the end of the school year, and then my computer crashed. Although I love my Ipad, the thought of blogging with it (having no keyboard) is not appealing; even if possible. So I am now back in the blogging world with not a whole lot to say! Summer is here and it has not been as busy as usual thus far. Nathan made All Stars in baseball and even though there has been practice every night, having to be in town has slowed me down. The regional All Star tournament began last night. There are three teams in this tournament and the top two go to State. Nathan played short stop and did a really good job. He has played both short stop and pitcher the past couple of years, however, he played at short stop mainly this past season and has excelled! Nathan's team lost the first game to Mt. Pleasant with the final score of 5 to 2. Nathan made one of the two runs after one of his team mates hit him in. It was an exciting game and even though his team lost, he played well. He even received the team ball from the game.

So we play Friday night to see if we can stay in the tournament and go to State! Go West Ashley All Stars!!
