Camden's Senior Trip Part 1

As most of you may know, Camden is a huge Celtics fan!  He even thinks he should live in Boston!  We had a trip planned this summer as a tagalong to Dave's pharmacy conference, but IT issues cancelled that trip.  So we decided to take Camden to Boston as a senior trip and in March, we could see the Celtics play.

But before we hit the streets of Boston, we rented a car and drove to Springfield, MA to tour the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.  With a quick detour to the starting line of the Boston Marathon.  This was the closest I will ever get to running it!

And because Boston runs on Dunkin, we decided to see if Dunkin Donuts taste better in Massachusetts.  They taste the same!

When we arrived at the Hall of Fame, we ate lunch and then had a fun time looking at all the basketball displays.  The museum was set up really well and we enjoyed our time there.

The vault of Celtics stuff...although the museum was for all basketball, both professional and college, being in Massachusetts, there was extra stuff for honoring the Celtics

Statue of James Naismith
He invented basketball because he needed a game that children could play inside.  This was because it can get very cold there.  We experienced the cold and wind that day!  Glad we were inside most of the time.
The first basket was a peach basket.

Camden's hand only fits in the palm of KD's hand!!

We were able to take a picture with Nathan's lookalike!

Camden isn't exactly a short guy, but he looks tiny here!

The end of the museum was a big basketball court with an original peach basket to shoot in, along with different height baskets to practice dunking.  Camden and Dave had a great time playing basketball.

After we finished the hall of fame, we had time to go to the Springfield Armory National Historic Site.  Dave enjoyed looking at all the guns they have on display.  It was housed on the site where the US produced and stored guns from Washington's time until the 1960s.

When we finally arrived in Boston, it was time to check into the hotel, return the car, and get a good dinner.  Our choice for the evening was Legal Seafood in the Seaport section of Boston, the section where we were staying.  We were able to sit where we could look at the harbor while we were eating.  Camden tried swordfish and really enjoyed it!  We all cleaned our plates.  This would be our first of many good meals in Boston!

We walked a half mile to our hotel and got ready for bed by 8:30. Our day had started at 3:30 and we were all exhausted!
